After years of mediocrity and trade rumors, it appears that Bradley Beal is heading out of Washington D.C. soon.

The Athletic reported Wednesday that Beal and the Wizards “intend to work together” on a trade to a contender if new the franchise’s new front office team does indeed go ahead with a rumored rebuild.

The Wizards have finished under .500 in five straight seasons, and with new management at the helm, it seems like the Beal partnership is coming to a head.

Beal is a three-time All-Star and will turn 29 in late June, but his massive contract, no-trade clause and injury history, to say nothing of his underwhelming playoff performance, may hinder his trade value.

“If the Wizards and Bradley Beal come to a decision that he should be traded because they are going to start a rebuild, I think people will be stunned at what the price could be,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on “Get Up” Wednesday morning. “You could potentially see a ‘bargain’ star trade.”

With a potential youth movement in Washington soon-to-be underway and the next week’s NBA Draft approaching quickly, Beal could be on the move soon.

With that, let’s take a look at the most recent odds for Beal’s next team, defined as “Next Regular Season Minute Played to be for Which NBA Team? (2023-2024 only)” by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Bradley Beal next team

Washington Wizards +120

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as no trade is more likely than any single team being Beal’s NBA home next season.

But the Wizards at plus-odds proves that oddsmakers think there is real smoke to these Beal rumors.

The Wizards most likely won’t get as much for Beal as they hope, but they aren’t just going to give him up for nothing.

There aren’t many teams that will be keen on bringing in a contract as big as Beal’s, too.

Washington could be wise to wait until next season’s trade deadline when opposing teams will be a bit more desperate for a trade.

Beal also apparently wants to play for a contender.

But what if no contenders are willing to cough up what the Wizards are asking for? There’s a chance Beal won’t waive his no-trade clause in that case.

There are plenty of realistic ways that this offseason can shake out with Beal in the nation’s capital, even if it’s just until the trade deadline.

Miami Heat +550

If a star player is available, it’s safe to assume Pat Riley and Co. are interested.

The Heat have fallen just short of an NBA title several times now during the Jimmy Butler era in Miami.

A third, more offensive-focused star next to Butler and Bam Adebayo could be what they need to get over the hump.

Miami has the salaries to match Beal’s contract as well.

A combination of Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry and Duncan Robinson, in addition to first-round draft picks and potentially other assets, likely would have to go out the door.

Betting on the NBA?

Beal likely would welcome a move to South Beach, but it remains to be seen if the Heat have enough for the Wizards’ liking.

Philadelphia 76ers +700

The 76ers already have been linked to Beal this offseason, and may just be desperate enough to do it.

James Harden is rumored to be heading back to Houston, which would create a natural opening at the shooting guard position for Beal.

Joel Embiid has long been a fan of Beal’s too, and the Sixers would be smart to keep their MVP happy.

Before the 2022 trade deadline, Embiid was reportedly “pushing really hard” for the team to acquire Beal before Philly traded for Harden, according to The Ringer’s Bill Simmons.
